Home for the rabbits! Part 1

Hubby & I decided it was time to add a few more pets to our family. We were hoping to raise chickens. Did a lot of research on just the right bird....picked out just the right hen house......found just the right spot in the back yard for them......then found out we couldn't raise them in our little town.  We were bummed. :(  Back to the drawing board.

Sooo the next best thing is rabbits. There quiet ( which I guess was the biggest reason why we couldn't have chickens) easy to take care of..... And in their tracks they leave the most prefect fertilizer for your garden.SOLD

I know the blanket was a little over kill...but it was cold the weekend we brought them home ( inserting hubby rolling his eye's) LoL
Hanging out on the blanket. LOL

Why they like to sleep in the liter box is beyond me....but this is usually where you find them!
Luckily it was about Easter time when we decided to find us some rabbits. Found a farmer, the next town over  that was selling them.  Even though we didn't have a hutch, we brought them home anyway.....didn't you know, rabbits are the new house pets...they can be littered trained. ha ha

So to our home came Tux the black& white Rex rabbit, & Copper  Part Rex/Angora rabbit. We had a large kennel, from training our dog  Meko 5 years ago. That was to be their home until the hutch was built.

Its been interesting having rabbits in house......I can say it might be great for some people...but not this girl. While they do get somewhat liter trained, they have to eat lots of hay during the day, & it is every where, even though we have them in a back bedroom, it is always being dragged out with you when you leave that room. UGH!!  I  will be glad when they go out side...which will be sometime this weekend. Will keep you posted!

Changes!

It amazes me how fast flower beds can change in a matter of a few weeks. May 2nd we were still on frost alert here in Southern WI.

Spring never sprung.....old man winter was fighting for his life.... didn't seem like he was ever going to leave.... we finally got some warmer weather a few weeks later. Lots of planting on rainy/cold days. Trying to get as much planted as I could, with the short growing season we have here. ( Tell me again why I live in WI?? O yea, because I love it! Just wish for a longer growing season!! )LOL
Picture of Oriole on a hummingbird feeder.....just have a point & shoot camera, new to posting a blog....haven't figured out how to zoom in pics yet. Have patience, will figure out as I go :)

Crazy Guy! You wouldn't think he could use this feeder... but they used it more then the hummingbird's.

I had a lot of Oriole's this spring. Love to watch them, they are such a pretty bird!

This picture was taken about the same place as the one's above... what a difference a month makes!

Two weeks later, everything is green & lush. Plants blooming right & left. Makes me happy just to walk around the gardens...to see whats ready to POP! As plants bloom I will try & take more pic's.

A shout out to my Mom for giving me some yellow Iris's, they are beautiful. I tend to like any flowers in the shade of purple....nice to see some yellow in the mix :)

What makes you happy in your garden??
